Kenan Visiting Scholar – Moti Herskowitz

Professor Moti Herskowitz, Director of the Blechner Center for Industrial Catalysis and Process Development and Israel Cohen Chair in Chemical Engineering at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Israel will be taking a sabbatical to NC State University in Fall 2017 to collaborate with Professor Fanxing Li in NC State’s Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering.

This sabbatical builds off the Hybrid Solar Redox project led by Professor Li. Kenan Institute support is being utilized to help support Dr. Herskowitz during his sabbatical period at NC State and complements resources being provided by the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering.  The objective of the visit is to develop joint research efforts between the Fanxing Li laboratory at NC State and the Herkowitz laboratory at Ben Gurion University in the general areas of conversion of gases such as CO2, methane and H2 to liquid fuels using sunlight and novel catalysts for a sustainable transportation economy.
