The William R. Kenan, Jr. Institute for Engineering, Technology & Science at North Carolina State University was established in 1992 with a grant from the William R. Kenan, Jr. Charitable Trust. The mission of the Institute is to develop partnerships in basic research, education, commercialization and public outreach with individuals and organizations dedicated to the advancement of science, engineering and technology as a force towards improving the economic and social well being of the state, nation and world.
Guided by the vision of Frank Hawkins Kenan, the Kenan Family, the Board of Directors of the Kenan Fund, and the Institute’s Board of Trustees, the Kenan Institute for Engineering, Technology & Science is committed to developing strong partnerships that will enhance North Carolina’s stature as a center for science and technology developments and economic growth.
