A picture of centennial campus.NC State University will be commemorating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Centennial Campus, a unique community where government and industry partners work collaboratively with NC State students, faculty, and staff. In partnership with Chancellor Emeritus Bruce Poulton, NC State is developing a publication and organizing an event which will be held on April 24, 2015 and will reflect on the accomplishments that have led to the success of its Centennial Campus. Over the years, the Kenan Institute, a long term tenant and partner on Centennial Campus, has played a key leadership role helping to inform the development of this unique community including the Monteith Research Center, BTEC, Hunt Library, and Keystone Center. This initiative seeks to renew and enhance public awareness of the unique circumstances leading to the creation of Centennial Campus, recognize the visionary leaders of the university and State who implemented the campus master plan, and educate our current leaders about the future of Centennial Campus. Two seminars are being planned which will focus on the history of Centennial Campus, and the future vision for the campus. An audience of over 300 leaders, including university leadership, local political representatives, as well as current and potential industry partners are expected to attend.
