Lindsay Skinner serves as the Associate Director of Philanthropy for the Kenan Institute for Engineering, Technology & Science (KIETS). She is focused on raising funds for the institute and its initiatives.
With over a decade of fundraising experience, Ms. Skinner’s focus on enhancing philanthropic engagement aligns with her commitment to impact and support public education through advancing the philanthropic mission of KIETS.
In her most recent role as the Associate Director of Annual Giving at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW), she managed the day-to-day operations of a centralized annual giving program. Leading a comprehensive fundraising plan, surpassing the $1 million fiscal year goal, and leading Seahawks Give to its second-highest dollar total in its nine-year legacy.
Her dedication to building quality relationships is evident in her role as the Assistant Director of Alumni & Friends for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) at NC State University from 2017 to 2022. There, she oversaw all CALS Advancement events and strategy, managed the CALS Alumni Board, and played a pivotal role in coordinating successful Day of Giving campaigns. Her efforts resulted in a significant increase in alumni gifts and a record-breaking $3.2 million raised in 2021.
With a background in marketing education, Ms. Skinner also served as the Assistant Coordinator of Student and Young Alumni Programs at NC State, demonstrating her ability to effectively market and promote programs, recruit new businesses, and oversee large-scale events such as Homecoming Week.
Ms. Skinner’s dedication to her field is further highlighted by her educational background, having graduated from NC State with a degree in Business and Marketing Education in 2011, along with a minor in Business Administration. Her commitment and achievements have earned her recognition, including the NC State University Advancement Performance Award for Innovation in Spring 2021.
