Dr. Marc Edwards, professor of civil and environmental engineering at Virginia Tech, will present the first Gerald H. Elkan Distinguished Lecture in Science and Society entitled, “Truth Seeking by the Lights of Perverted Science: Exposing the Flint Water Disaster.” Named among the most influential people in the world by Time, Fortune, Politico, and Foreign Policy in 2016, Edwards’ research laid the groundwork for investigative science uncovering the 2001-2004 D.C. Lead Crisis and the 2014-2016 Flint Water Disaster. Presented by the Park Scholarships at NC State, with support from the NCSU Libraries and the College of Sciences.
